DESCRIPTION: Dam: MISSJ&M SEXADA 853/5 (ABBA# 944200) • Sire: MR +S GRANT MANSO 461 (ABBA# 910732)  

DAM: 853/5 is a cow we liked a lot due to her proven production in the herd, superior phenotype, and excellent pedigree. The sire to 853/5, +Mr. V8 777/4 “Powerstroke,” was a Reserve International Champion, but more importantly, he was a proven sire with numerous offspring around the world who were show winners and breed influencers. The dam to 853/5 is sired by (+)JDH Karu Manso 800 and was a successful donor for STGenetics with 97 progeny to her credit — many of them show champions resulting in her reaching the ABBA Register of Renown. Lots of bone, body, length, levelness, and overall eye appeal.

SIRE: MR +S GRANT MANSO 461 is an April 2012 Gray Brahman bull from the Schneider Brahmans show string; he was Reserve Grand Champion at the Hunt County Fair and garnered several division titles and lots of class wins at various shows. He is EXTREMELY gentle and so are his calves. He’s clean top and bottom with lots of length, a wide back, and smooth flank. He is sired by JDH Sir Forrest Manso 159/6, who is by the Vanguard bull JDH Sir Marri Manso. On the bottom, he goes back to V8 700/3, JDH Sage, JDH Sir Alexo, and TTT Suva Crata 450. He is a good outcross bull for a lot of popular bloodlines. He works great on our Karu-800-influenced cattle. His calves aren't tiny, but they hit the ground with no problems and have great growth. We used actual scales, and his purebred Brahman offspring averaged 77 pounds with an average weaning weight of 542 pounds. His progeny are functional in the pasture and the show ring! Two of his bull calves won high grading bull honors at the HLS&R All Breeds Bull Sale, and one won Overall Reserve Grand Champion honors — something that has only been done twice in the history of one of Texas’s oldest bull sales (possibly the oldest — started in 1967). His progeny have also won reserve division championships at Fort Worth and Houston Open Shows, and lots of junior show titles!
