DESCRIPTION:  Butler Salim 261 is the top Guzerat female that we have produced to date. She is 100% imported genetics from Mexico. Her sire was imported from the herd of Capital Javier Ravello of Tizimin, Mexico. We chose him at the Indian breeds show in Merida Mexio because of his extreme length and great phenotype. Eclipse will leave a lasting story in the Guzerat breed in the US. Salim’s dam was imported from Salim Saide also of Tizimin. Salim was one of the great Guzerat breeders that passed away recently. The Guzerat cattle are the most majestic of the Bos Indicus breeds and now the Guzerat crosses with Jersey, Holstein or other dairy breeds can be registered in Bos Indicus International. The Guzerat and crosses are hugely popular in Central and South America where there are large numbers being milked and also being used in beef production. Guzerat cattle are the ultimate dual purpose breed and work very well when bred to Brahman. Butler Farms has been crossing Guzerat and Brahman for several generations now and are some of our best and most productive Brahman cows are the Guzerat influenced Brahmans. The crosses are registered as Brahman until they reach 75% at which time they go into the Guzerat herd book. We are really proud of our Guzerat influenced Brahman cattle. Salim is as versatile a female as there is in Bos Inducus cattle. She can be bred in numerous ways to add milk, size and longevity.
