LOT 09B - LADY JCC ASH MANSO 925/2 | SIRE: JCC SUCRATA MANSO 617/2 | DAM: MS JCC W CRATA MANSO 199/2/2
LADY JCC TIFF MANSOF 923/3 OR LADY JCC ASH MANSO 925/2 PICK OF TWO FEMALES - Both of these heifers are moderate framed from our herd that was started in 1966. At the time we decided to not necessarily go with the trends but to raise moderate framed cattle that would suit the commercial breeder in Florida. These cattle had to be functional in our environment. They also had to have the qualities to breed cattle from other breeds to raise calves that would be used in the meat industry. That decision is still in place. These two heifers are very similar to each other in body style and breeding. Both go back to the JCC 735 bull that has been a big part of our breeding for years. The genetics from the JDH Baxter bull that we purchased years ago has stull proven to be a big part of our breeding by crossing with the Sugar Loxacrata line. It has been and still is a major part of our breeding program. Our Double C Bar Ranch has for the past 15 plus years developed a local beef program with our commercial cattle. We do not ship our calves to feedlots. We wean and finish basically all our calves on the ranch and market the meat. Because calves fit into our beef program and functional bred cattle our 3/4 Brahman calves fit into our beef program and consistently produce USDA Choice carcasses as we process steers a heifers weekly. We have not sold heifers for several years. We have been keeping them for replacements and also developed an F-1 Brahman/Red Angu program to work on a 3 breed composite. These heifers will be some of the first to be sold in several years.
