At Flying W Ranch we have strived to produce cattle that are fertile and productive since 1974. Our cattle remain productive in this tough West Texas country in good years and bad. They can travel in our big rocky pastures and stay in good flesh. Our goal is to produce bulls for our customers with light birth weights and high calving ease so they are trouble free. Our cattle are moderate ,easy fleshing and very gentle and beefy. Our females are feminine long bodied and attractive with great udders. We have had 54 cows achieve Maternal Merit status as well as 9 bulls with Maternal Sire awards. While we are proud of these achievements this was not something were trying to do but simply a result of our putting emphasis on fertility and production .
In the past 12 years we have put more effort in improving carcass quality . Using ultrasound we have identified our genetics to improve those traits. The past two years our females have averaged 4 imf. We I’ll continue to try and improve our carcass traits while never losing sight of fertility and production. Our bull offering in this sale would help any breeder concerned with those traits and be an asset in any herd registered or commercial .

560/2 placed 5th in overall index for 2023 ABBA BULL evaluation test. He is a performance rock star for carcass epds . His marbling epd is 16.11 placing him in the top 1% of the breed. His REA epd is 0.69 which is in top 3 % and his carcass weight epd is 41 top 4 % . His Bull index epd is 114.83 which puts him in top 1% for this index. In the test 560 was 7th in the judges ranking for phenotype . He was 4 th for REA and 7th for imf as well as 3 rd for bw epd . 560 is a clean sheathed long level hipped bull that is very gentle.
SRW 560's sire is MR. SNS BRODY 396/9 a bull we bought from Satterfield Ranch in 2021. He is a Mighty Mouse son and out of MISS SNS BRINLEY 657/3 . We love his calves and he has balanced our epds for growth but keeping our birthweights and calving ease acceptable. 560 s dam is one of our better cows SRW MISS FLYING W 260/7 . She has a 362 day calving interval with 4 calves including one this year. 260/7 scanned 6.08 at 12 months of age with only .10 rib fat.
